Federation Migrations

What is Client Federation?​

Clients "federate" with PwC when they integrate their own Identity Provider (IdP) with PwC's global IAM service which:​

  • allows client employees to use their own identity (e.g., SSO without username and password) to access PwC's online applications;​
  • helps streamline a client’s overall user experience; and​
  • enhances security for applications as clients control which users can access PwC applications without the need to contact PwC.

What is changing?

PwC Identity is migrating from its on-prem authentication solution (ForgeRock) to cloud native Microsoft Entra ID (Entra ID) as its primary Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution. As part of the migration, client federations must also be migrated to Entra ID.

Getting Started

The designated Global Relationship Partner (GRP) or PwC federated client lead, will need to help to gather technical information from impacted clients via a questionnaire. They will also need to help coordinate introductions with the appropriate business and technical contacts should it be required.

Next steps

  • The Client Federation Migration team will share an email template with a link to the questionnaire which the client needs to complete and a list of domains and applications currently in use by the client organisation. If the client needs assistance, the team can schedule a call.

  • The questionnaire responses will help the Client Federation Migration Team identify the type of support the client needs and initiate appropriate next steps.

  • The client federation migration team will carry out the required steps with the client technical team to implement the new federation.
