Self-Service Group Management in Entra ID
Group Management in Entra ID (API/UI)
As PwC moves to Entra ID as its Identity provider, applications need a way to manage groups in Entra ID they own. Today, PwC Identity provides APIs in GUM to allow applications to manage groups they own.
With the end goal of the IDaaS project to decommission ForgeRock products, we cannot use the existing GUM API service as that leverages ForgeRock OpenIDM. Therefore we need a new way for applications to manage groups in Entra ID via APIs.
Refer to this document for complete details on transition from GUM to MS Graph APIs.
Group Creation in Entra ID
As PwC moves to Entra ID as its Identity provider, users need a way to manage groups in Entra ID they own. Today, PwC Identity provides a self service UI in GUM to allow users to manage groups they own.
With the end goal of the IDaaS project to decommission ForgeRock products, we cannot use the existing GUM service as that runs on ForgeRock OpenIDM. Therefore, we need a new tool for users to manage groups in Entra ID.
PwC users will use existing native Entra ID UIs to manage groups they own. This article contains guidance for doing so, whether:
- as an app owner via the Entra ID portal, or
- as a non-admin via the My Groups Portal.
